Idea Actions
Review, promote, or dismiss ideas to manage your content pipeline.
Idea Actions
When you open an idea from the Ideas page, you land on the idea detail page. This is where you get the full picture and decide what to do with the idea.
What you see on the detail page
The detail page gives you everything the Content Scout gathered for this idea:
- Title — The proposed headline, displayed prominently at the top.
- Status badge — The idea’s current status (New, Reviewed, Promoted, or Dismissed), shown as a color-coded label.
- Relevance score — A percentage indicating how closely the idea matches your topics.
- Angle — The unique take or hook that makes this idea worth writing about.
- Summary — A detailed breakdown of what the post could cover, the key points to address, and why the topic matters to your audience.
- Sources — Each source the Scout referenced is listed with its title, a snippet of relevant text, and a link to the original article. Click any source to open it in a new tab.
- Metadata — The creation date and last-updated date for the idea.
Status flow
Ideas follow a simple lifecycle:
New → Reviewed → Promoted or Dismissed
Every idea starts as “New” when the Scout generates it. From there, you move it forward based on your decision.
Mark Reviewed
When an idea is in the “New” state, you will see a Mark Reviewed button. Clicking it changes the status to “Reviewed,” which signals that you have read and considered the idea. This is useful for keeping track of what you have already looked at, especially when the Scout generates a large batch of ideas at once.
Marking an idea as reviewed also clears it from the “new ideas” notification count in the sidebar.
Promote to Writing Session
This is the main action for ideas you want to turn into published posts. Click Promote to Writing Session to:
- Create a new writing session that is pre-loaded with the idea’s title, summary, and source links.
- Update the idea’s status to “Promoted.”
- Navigate you directly to the new writing session.
Once you land in the writing session, the AI writing partner already has the idea’s full context and will begin drafting based on the title, angle, summary, and sources. You can guide the draft from there through conversation.
The Promote button is available on ideas with a “New” or “Reviewed” status. If an idea has already been promoted or dismissed, you won’t see it.
Go to Writing Session
After an idea has been promoted, the Promote button is replaced by a Go to Writing Session button. Click it to jump straight to the writing workspace where the AI is drafting (or has drafted) the post based on this idea. This makes it easy to revisit promoted ideas and pick up where you left off.
Dismiss
If an idea doesn’t fit your plans, click Dismiss to remove it from your active pipeline. The idea’s status changes to “Dismissed,” and it moves out of your main workflow.
You can dismiss an idea from either the “New” or “Reviewed” state. Once an idea has been promoted to a writing session, it can no longer be dismissed — the writing session is already underway.
Dismissed ideas aren’t deleted. You can still find them by filtering for “Dismissed” on the Ideas page if you ever want to revisit them.
