The Workspace

Your split-screen environment for AI-assisted writing.

The Workspace

The workspace is where the actual writing happens. When you open a session, you land in a split-screen environment designed to keep the conversation with the AI and the evolving draft visible at the same time.

Two-panel layout

The workspace is divided into two panels:

  • Chat panel (left) — A conversational interface where you talk to the AI writer. Describe what you want, ask for changes, or give feedback — the AI uses this conversation to shape your draft.
  • Draft panel (right) — A live view of your current draft. As the AI writes or revises content during the conversation, the draft updates here automatically. You can also switch to edit mode and make changes directly.

This side-by-side design means you never have to switch tabs or copy-paste between a chat window and a document. Everything stays in view.

Resizable divider

A vertical divider sits between the two panels. You can drag it left or right to give more space to whichever panel you need at the moment — for example, widening the draft panel when you’re reviewing a long post, or expanding the chat when you’re having a detailed back-and-forth.

The divider can be moved anywhere between 30% and 70% of the screen width. Your preferred position is saved in your browser, so it stays where you left it the next time you open a session.

You can also use the keyboard to adjust the divider. Focus it with Tab, then press the Left or Right arrow keys to nudge it in 5% increments.

Mobile layout

On smaller screens (under 768px wide), the workspace switches to a tabbed layout instead of side-by-side panels. Two tabs appear at the top of the screen:

  • Chat — Shows the chat panel.
  • Draft — Shows the draft panel.

Tap a tab to switch between them. This keeps the workspace fully usable on phones and tablets without cramming two panels into a narrow viewport.

How chat and draft work together

The chat and draft panels are connected in real time. When the AI saves a new version of your draft during the conversation, the draft panel refreshes automatically to show the latest content. You don’t need to reload or manually sync anything — just keep chatting, and the draft keeps up.
